Hi! I found you through the GCM blog-ring. I don't belong, but I do post occassionaly at GCM ( I'm butterfly there.) When I first joined Xanga I got some weird comments, but deleted them and blocked them. They eventually stopped. I have started a myspace ( I have friends who have migrated there) and there are tons of adds that come up that bother me. I like it better here on Xanga. P.S. Maybe you could start a second blog on Xanga for the deeper discussions you may want to have?

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time.  Do you have premium?  You may want to consider going protected, that weeds out a lot of weirdos.

i do most of my blogging at blogger, and like it there a lot. I don't really like xanga as much, but that's me.

You can make your blog as intellectual or as chatty as you want, it doesn't matter where you blog. I've seen both kinds of blogs at xanga. I blog at blogger and my blog is unlisted so I don't get random lookie-loo's stopping by leaving comments or anything. I've seen a variety of blogs at blogger, too - both chatty and intellectual, and combinations of both.

Sometimes those "teens looking to party" come in spurts, and if you block them, they may give up. That happens on our homeschooling email lists - we'll be inundated with those kinds of people trying to access the lists for a few weeks, and then they'll just disappear. Maybe there's a circuit they make?? I don't think moving your blog is necessary, and I don't think you should hesitate to post whatever you have on your mind. I'll continue to visit, wherever you blog. :) I haven't seen "teens looking to party" at blogger, but they get their share of spammers leaving comments. And they have ways of avoiding or handling them, as xanga probably does, too. I like blogger better because I'm not limited to viewing only five posts at a time, and it looks less cluttered to me. But if you feel comfortable here and familiar with the interface, you can probably find ways to deal with unwanted visitors, and you can turn your blog into whatever you want by posting whatever you want to say.

I think about this alot too Elizabeth. I just dont know what to do. I think I stick with Xanga because I like getting the email subscriptions. I actually forget about going to the other blogging sites. Sad, considering I do like my friends! ;)

I think I may upgrade too- I have no idea whose looky looing me..

I have never had a problem here, but at myspace I've had some, but there they send add requests and you can be private...I enjoy it and actually tend to check it more often than here. :)
